WordPress development for business websites, stores and membership sites

We build, extend and maintain WordPress sites: custom themes and plugins, WooCommerce stores, membership and multisite setups, and migrations planned so the site keeps its search traffic. The work is done by our in-house team, and you own the code we write for you.

What we build with WordPress

Examples from our own projects, described in general terms.

Business and corporate websites

Company sites and sub-brand sites, including a WordPress multisite on a shared theme framework, with forms and responsive layouts.

Membership and content sites

Member levels and restricted content, video playback, download areas and community forums, with access control through plugins such as WP Fusion.

Custom plugins

Plugins written for one site's needs: a workout-routine builder, pop-ups with admin controls for timing and audience, and a newsfeed bar.

WooCommerce stores

Online shops on WordPress with custom themes, plugins and payment set-up. See our WooCommerce development page.

Maintenance and support

For sites that are already live: core, plugin and theme updates, design changes, speed work and security clean-up.

Migrations

Moving a site to WordPress or to a new host, with old URLs mapped to new ones so search traffic is kept. See website redesign and migration.

When WordPress is the right choice

WordPress suits sites where content changes often and the people editing it are not developers:

  • A company or brand site with a blog, landing pages and forms that marketing staff update themselves.
  • A membership or content site with member levels, restricted pages and video.
  • A small or mid-size online shop, where WooCommerce keeps the shop and the content in one system.
  • A family of related sites that share one theme and one set of plugins, run as a multisite.

It is the wrong fit for some projects, and we will say so. A web application with heavy business logic is usually better built as a custom web application; a large catalogue may be better on Shopify or Magento; and a site that rarely changes may not need a CMS at all.

Not sure WordPress is the right fit?

We also work with Joomla, Drupal and other systems (see content management system development), and we can advise when another platform would serve you better.

What clients say

Jatinder has been a valuable team player and leader for us as we worked to develop our revolutionary technology. Recently, we integrated our software into Oracle's technology and our code went through and passed the Oracle review process for certification which is in large part due to Jatinder's talent, attention to detail and professionalism.

The highest recommendation for our software developers is to rehire them for future projects and Jatinder has earned this recognition more than any software developer on our team. We look forward to continuing to work with Jatinder in the future and delighted to be able to leave this positive feedback for him today as it has been so well deserved.

Manjinder has been great to work with on our project. He has been with us for over 3,000 hours of work and is one of the best programmers we have worked with on a project (we have worked with over 50 developers.) I highly recommend Manjinder from both a professional and personal level. He possesses superb ASP.net and SQL skills plus great communications skills making him the ideal candidate for any small, medium or large-scale development project.

Sarbjit did a great job moving our public blog from BlogEngine.NET to Wordpress. This migration contained a lot of complexities, users, comments and database structure that had to be moved and Sarbjit handled it masterfully. Thanks Sarbjit!

Frequently asked questions

Do you build custom WordPress themes and plugins?

Yes. We write themes and plugins for a site's own needs, for example a workout-routine builder, pop-ups with admin controls and a newsfeed bar for a fitness membership site.

Can you take over maintenance of an existing WordPress site?

Yes. We handle core, plugin and theme updates, design changes, speed work and security clean-up for sites that are already live.

Can you move my site to WordPress without losing search traffic?

Yes. We plan the migration to protect your content and search visibility: old URLs are mapped to new ones and redirected, and we check the result after launch.

Do you sign an NDA, and who owns the code?

We sign an NDA before work starts, and you own the code we write for you.

Do you work with other content management systems?

Yes, including Joomla and Drupal. For online stores we also build on Shopify and Magento.

How do I get a quote?

Use the form on this page or book a project call. Tell us what you need and we come back with questions and next steps.

How can we work together?

There are three ways, on the same terms:

  • Dedicated team, best for ongoing work: interview the developers, then they work on your project full or part time.
  • Fixed scope, best when requirements are clear: we agree the scope and the price up front, and deliver against it.
  • Time and material, best when the scope will change: you pay for the time used and can change priorities as the work goes on.

Whichever you choose, we sign an NDA before work starts, you own the code we write, and every change is reviewed in your repository.

Can I interview the developers before we start?

Yes. For a dedicated team you meet the developers in an online call and interview them before they join your project.
