Overview
Rackless is a cloud software services company for start-ups, small businesses and non-profits. We have worked with it since 2014 on two connected threads. The first is its own web app, a ticket and work-request system with accounts, stakeholders, comments, email notifications, scheduled tickets and reports. The second is the family of WordPress sites around it, including the company site and sites for its sister brands and clients. Over the years we also built a Salesforce-connected opportunities dashboard, a Laravel inventory module and the first scaffold of a React Native app, and we still maintain the platform.
What we built
- Early application work in 2018: a first app with sign-up, simple authentication, multi-step task forms and saving the app's state to a MySQL database, after comparing React with Laravel and DynamoDB with MongoDB for the stack
- Development and ongoing maintenance of the ticket and work-request web app: tickets with stakeholders and comments, a history of edits and deletions, a priority list and saved filters
- Email notifications from editable templates, with a way to send a test email and a delay so users can finish their changes before anything is sent
- Scheduled (recurring) tickets with a review of the interval
- Reports on completed tickets and on feedback ratings and comments, filtered by date range, user, epic and account
- A Salesforce-connected dashboard that fetches a user's opportunities, saves custom fields and shows opportunity activities (2020)
- An inventory module in Laravel, with new fields and database migrations (2020)
- A WordPress multisite family of sites with a shared Genesis theme framework, sub-brand sites, SSL, forms and responsive layouts, plus plugin, framework and performance updates
- The first scaffold of a React Native app with a splash screen (2020), and later app screens and store screenshots for a sister organisation's mobile app
- Automated browser tests in Ghost Inspector, dependency clean-up and deployment support

What the client says
Jatinder has been a valuable team player and leader for us as we worked to develop our revolutionary technology. Recently, we integrated our software into Oracle's technology and our code went through and passed the Oracle review process for certification which is in large part due to Jatinder's talent, attention to detail and professionalism.
The highest recommendation for our software developers is to rehire them for future projects and Jatinder has earned this recognition more than any software developer on our team. We look forward to continuing to work with Jatinder in the future and delighted to be able to leave this positive feedback for him today as it has been so well deserved.
Manjinder has been great to work with on our project. He has been with us for over 3,000 hours of work and is one of the best programmers we have worked with on a project (we have worked with over 50 developers.) I highly recommend Manjinder from both a professional and personal level. He possesses superb ASP.net and SQL skills plus great communications skills making him the ideal candidate for any small, medium or large-scale development project.
Sarbjit did a great job moving our public blog from BlogEngine.NET to Wordpress. This migration contained a lot of complexities, users, comments and database structure that had to be moved and Sarbjit handled it masterfully. Thanks Sarbjit!
