Fintech and payments Case study
Campaign and payments platform for a crowdfunding firm
A crowdfunding site on WordPress with creator dashboards, tiered rewards, Stripe and Bitcoin payments, email campaigns and admin tools.
- AWS S3
- Stripe
- WordPress
- PHP
- Bitcoin payments
Overview
A platform that lets people and organizations run funding campaigns with direct funding or tiered rewards. We set up the platform, built custom plugins and designs on top of it, and maintained it for nearly three years.
The challenge
Campaign creators needed their own dashboards and tools, funders needed several payment routes, and admins needed oversight, all on top of a WordPress crowdfunding plugin that had to be extended and kept updated and secure.
What we built
- Platform setup, theme configuration and custom plugin work for signup and campaign creation
- Design and HTML/CSS for the home page, campaign pages, contact forms and checkout
- Creator dashboards with funding metrics, share tools and project fields
- Payment methods including Stripe, Bitcoin and subscription options
- Email campaign tools: CSV contact import and sending, with a paginated contact list
- Admin tools for campaign oversight, user permissions and platform performance
- Filtering, sorting, ranking and social sharing on campaign listings
- AWS S3 media storage, security fixes (XSS and clickjacking protection) and regular core and plugin updates
How a system like this fits together
- Client side
- Services
- Third parties
In words: Visitors and campaign creators use the campaign pages and creator dashboards, which run on WordPress with custom PHP plugins for signup, campaigns and admin tools. Payments go through Stripe, including subscriptions, or Bitcoin, and media is stored on AWS S3.
