Overview

An e-commerce store on PrestaShop for medical supplies, mainly breast pumps and accessories. The unusual part was ordering through insurance: custom pricing, order processing and email flows around insured products. We built and maintained it for seven years.

The challenge

Customers can pay directly or through insurance, and each route needs different pricing, forms, approvals and emails, while the store still had to be fast and simple to buy from on mobile.

What we built

  1. PrestaShop installation, theme setup and responsive home and inner pages
  2. Insured product flows: custom pricing, orders, admin review of insurance details and email notifications
  3. A new multi-step checkout covering order, login, insurance, address, shipping and payment
  4. Tricare and other insurance flows, and FSA-related modules
  5. PayPal and Authorize.net payments, Google Merchant and AdWords configuration, Mailchimp for email
  6. Customer group image uploads, product import and export, and shipping rules by price and category
  7. A breastfeeding education page with an admin module
  8. Performance work: CSS and JavaScript minification and sprite images
