Benzinga: WordPress for multi-language news sites
WordPress development for Benzinga's international financial news sites: a custom post-receiving plugin, quote pages, speed and Core Web Vitals work, and language-specific sites.
Overview
Benzinga publishes financial news and market data, with WordPress sites for several countries and languages. We worked on those international sites: theme and plugin updates, a custom plugin that receives posts through an API, stock and quote page templates fed by Benzinga's data, caching and Core Web Vitals fixes, and the date, translation and layout details of each language site.
What we built
- A custom "Custom Post Receiver" plugin to add, update and delete posts through an API, with image upload
- Stock and quote page templates using Benzinga's APIs and TradingView widgets
- Page speed and Core Web Vitals fixes; caching with W3 Total Cache and Object Cache Pro
- Media offloaded to Amazon S3 with WP Offload Media
- Language-specific settings, translations and date handling for the Korean and Japanese sites
- Theme updates, homepage layouts, plugin maintenance and deployments
