2. Access Your Tracking Code

Once you sign up/ log in for Google Analytics, you can easily locate the tracking code. Tracking Code is a string of HTML code that you have to copy and paste to your website pages to track statistics. Once you accept user agreement upon signing up, you will be taken to the page containing HTML tracking code. Those who already have an account, they will be taken to overview page displaying your website account. Follow these steps – Action Buttons>>select account>>click edit>>click check status. You will find your tracking code in “Instructions for adding tracking.”

 

3. Add Tracking Code To Your Website

Copy the tracking code and paste it into the HTML of your each website page if it is static, just before the closing head tag.

 

4. Check If You Tracking Code Is Working Properly

In order to be sure that your Google Analytics will begin tracking your website data or not, go to the overview page in your website accounts and select the account from the Actions column. Click on “Edit” and then click on “Check Status.” Your account will be verified for proper tracking code installation In the Tracking Status Information box.

 

5. Google Analytics will take 24 hours to begin tracking your website data.
